About
In 2025, I launched Exceptional Leadership, a podcast for first-time and emerging managers who want practical, no-nonsense guidance on leading people with confidence.
My leadership journey didn’t start with a promotion I chased.
It started with a tap on the shoulder.
I was asked to lead my first team — with no formal training and no roadmap. I suddenly found myself managing former peers, navigating difficult conversations, running meetings, and trying to earn trust the hard way.
I’ve led teams of people across diverse functions including administration, technical specialists, and project managers, often spanning multiple age groups and experience levels. I’ve learned what works, what fails, and what no one tells you when you step into leadership for the first time.
Later, I completed an MBA to complement that real-world experience — but the foundations were built on practical lessons, mistakes, and growth in the field.
This podcast exists to share those lessons.
Every fortnight, I break down the real challenges new managers face:
Giving feedback that actually lands
Setting expectations clearly
Building trust across different personalities
Addressing underperformance without avoiding it
If you’ve stepped into leadership and are figuring it out as you go — you’re not alone.
I’d love to have you join the conversation.
